8:05p	С подачи arbatа читаю Skunk Works by Ben Rich. Интересно, один из пилотов U-2 пишет, что в июле 57 года пролетал над ракетным сайтом, где вдруг обнаружились приготовления к наземному ядерному взрыву, каковой и был произведен спустя пару часов. В списке советских ядерных испытаний я ничего подходящего не нашел. Ракетный сайт - Капустин Яр? (В 3 часах полета от Омска - примерно 2ткм). (15 Comments | Comment on this)
10:23p	Уточнение к предыдущему посту. Нифига не Капустин Яр, это я невнимательно читал. Цитирую: I took off ... from a field of Pakistan. The missile site was 3 hours trip, but about 75 minutes into the mission I saw familiar circular graded contours. We had no idea that this test site even existed. Large tower held a large object on top, and there were signs of activity around huge blockhouse two miles away. ... Three hours later I was over Omsk, then I turned east to head for the missile test site. ... I expected to be received as a hero for having uncovered a Soviet nuclear test site. Instead I was told "There is no atomic test facility in that part of Russia". Next day however they apologize: "Nuclear bomb was detonated from that tower less than two hours after you flew over it". Итак, место в часе лета от Пакистана по направлению к Омску. Не Семипалатинск, конечно, вряд ли к 57-му году о нем не знали. Кстати, а что за ракетный полигон к востоку от Омска?
