Iraq civilian deaths during three year invasion - ~40k (many estimates are closer to 100k, but let's take 40k to underestimate it). Iraq population - 26,783k

Death rate: 40 / 26,783 / 3 = 0.00050, and the number reported by this "report" is half of that value. Even Bush's number of 30k deaths (as of Dec 2005) results in 45 deaths per 100,000 in a year (counting Dec 2005 as 2.5 years since invasion).

And this is huge underestimate. Try using Pentagon data, of 94 violent casualties per day in Iraq between February and May of 2006. (This gives 128 per 10k per year).

So this article just proves republicans can't count (when there is a need for wrong numbers).

P.S. Ну не говоря уж об абсурдности сравнивать плотно населенный город с населением всей страны. Но если нужно, мерзавцам можно что угодно сравнивать с чем угодно.

As of Dec 12, 2005 (when Bush gave speech) counts as 2.73 years since invasion .
[=("12/12/2005"-"03/20/2003")/365.25]

This results in 41 death per 100K, not 45, if we are doing the math.
